Actor Ramarajan is a leading actor in Tamil cinema.

He is fondly called as Maklak Nayagan by Tamil cinema fans. Ramarajan started his film career in 1977 with small roles. He made his directorial debut with Mannukkettha Ponnu (1985). He made his debut as the protagonist in the 1986 film Namma Uru Nalla Uru. He is popular among fans for acting in village based films.

His film Karakatakaran (1989) was a huge blockbuster hit. It ran for 400 days in theatres. Karakatakkaran is one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema, and many other films starring Ramarajan have run for over 100 days.

Ramarajan, who is also involved in politics, was elected to the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998 as a candidate of Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam from Tiruchendur Lok Sabha constituency.

Ramarajan acted in the 2012 film Medhai after the 2001 film Seeri Vaadi Kalai. In this case, Ramarajan is going to play the hero again.

It has been officially announced that this film will be Ramarajan’s 45th film. The film is titled as Samanian. Ramarajan with M.S. Bhaskar and Radha Ravi are acting. Rakesh is going to direct the film. Mathiazhagan is producing the film. The title look poster of the film has been released in 5 languages.
